PE Lessons: Wednesday (black shorts and white t-shirt in a P.E. bag to be kept in school for half a term)

Homework: Homework will be set periodically to reinforce the work presented to the children in the class. It is a good way for you as parents to know what your child is doing in school.

Water is needed by your child on a daily basis. Drinking water feeds the brain.

Project Overview

This project focuses on knowledge and understanding of the world and enables children to explore different types of foods, including observation and testing how foods change in cooking, melting, mixing and freezing. During this project children will be encouraged to think creatively and apply experiences, skills and understanding to design and create a menu for a picnic.

In this project, children will learn about:

• Different types of foods.
• Favorites and dislikes.
• The sense of smell and taste.
• Staying healthy by eating a balanced diet.
• Measures and money through role play.
• Foods from different countries.
• Cooking processes such as melting, freezing and mixing.
• Express themselves creatively using a range of different media.
• The Welsh language by using words and phrases over a range of experiences in 
the indoors and      outdoors.

 Glow and Glitter

Project Overview

This project focuses on knowledge and understanding of the world and enables children to explore things that sparkle, shimmer, glow, reflect, shine and flash. During this project children will be encouraged to think creatively and apply experiences, skills and understanding to solve the mystery of the ‘Lost Present’ at Christmas.

In this project, children will learn about:

• Materials that are bright and materials that are not.
• Materials which reflect light and those who do not.
• Making materials and some natural features especially those that shine, flash, gleam and reflect.
• Making shadows using a light source.
• Fire safety and rules to stay safe indoors and outdoors.
• Different sources of light and how light is important in a range of different celebrations including     Christmas.
• Christmas Traditions.
• Make marks, drawing and early writing.

• The Welsh language by using words and phrases across a range of experiences both indoors         and outdoors.
